| Shells Seafood Swiss gourmet chef John Christen opened in 1985 the first restaurant, an authentic no frills restaurant in South Tampa named Shells. He served delicious creamy clam chowder, huge portions of fresh seafood pastas, grilled fish, and a variety of seafood baskets for unbelievably low prices. It was an instant hit and has gone on to become one of Florida’s genuine signature dining experiences. Today Shells is proud to serve seafood lovers at 25 restaurants throughout Florida.
